"Obama extends hospital visitation rights to same-sex partners of gays. Thursday that hospitals extend visitation rights to the partners of gay men and lesbians and allow same-sex couples to share medical power of attorney, perhaps the most significant step so far in his efforts to expand the rights of gay Americans."
People are amazed when I tell them that if Eric or I were hospitalized neither of us would be allowed to see the other. People are also amazed to know that I am not allowed to donate blood because I am a gay man.
