The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency
Last evening I viewed the first hour of this new HBO series. Jill Scott is a natural in the role and the show took me outside my home, community and nation to another place
in the world. I appreciated the turn-of-phrase the characters used as well as the sense of humor used in the script. The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency is engaging and puts a spin on the tired detective drama.
Driving Skills & Video Games
"The games immersed players in an environment where they had to be constantly ready to react to unpredictable events, and where visual information had to be responded to instantly in very precise physical ways". Driving in Houston requires these skills.
I have told passengers in my car that my driving skills derived from video games.

Wi-Fi Blu-Ray Player
Standalone Blu-ray players have finally started catching up to the Sony PlayStation 3 for Blu-ray playback, but Sony's game console is still the only Blu-ray player with built-in Wi-Fi.
Luckily, that appears to be changing in 2009, with both Samsung and LG announcing wireless Blu-ray players at CES 2009. And Monday Sony announced its own wireless Blu-ray player, the BDP-S560. The BDP-S560 includes 802.11N Wi-Fi, which means you'll be able to access BD-Live features without dragging an Ethernet cord into your living room.

"Cartoon Network is bringing animator/director Genndy Tartakovsky back to prime-time television with a new sci-fi series called Sym-Bionic Titan. Sym-Bionic Titan will focus on three extraterrestrials from the war-torn planet Galaluna who crash-land, only to be swept up in high school and the fate of the Earth as we know it".

The Ripping Friends are Time Travelers.
"They exist always and everywhere there is evil to be vanquished. How do they go through time? With superior scientific technology? No. Through combined rage. They are so manly, they can rip through time. They just reach out their massive angry arms and grab a chunk of space and time in their hands and rip holes in it. It hurts like the Devil to do this and they scream at the top their lungs while suffering for humanity. When Hitler, Genghis Khan or Nebuchadnezzar's armies of evil come bursting through the holes, The Ripping Friends beat the living crap out of them".
